i have a question about changing my power supply.. i purchased a dimension E510 from dell about a year and a half ago stock. gb ram 3.2 ghz pentium 4. 320 watt power supply, etc. so since then i put in another gb of ram and i put in a graphics card (nVidia GeForce 6800 GT) it works fine and all, but i would like to get rid of the power supply message that pops up when i start my computer, i know what i have to do to get rid of it. i'm just wondering if its ok just to switch out my old 320 watt with like 1k watt power supply, and nothing would go wrong. i just need to know if its ok to switch it out and nothing changes. thankz in advanced. take care~

The power supply only puts out what the system requires, it doesn't matter if the power supply unit is rated at 5Kw as long as the power supply disipates internal heat build up.

It's always good to have a surplace supply, this prevents power drops when placing large loads on smaller 300+-watt supplies.

So much equipment making simultaneous demands for power from shop standard under-rated PSU's spell disaster time for most budget systems, as soon as I got my new tower, I replaced the supplied PSU with a dual fan 750watt gold unit.
