I'm new here and just upgraded to a silver account. My Down load speed is slow in the 20 - 40 kbs. I've Cleared my cookies and still have the problem. I thought once I upgraded the speed would increase.

Also if I link the files at what speed will the person downloading get?

You would have to speak to admin to determine your actual streaming speeds, I'm sure that once you have downloaded the files for the first time, your browser should support faster reloads, You may also have set your browser to clear the tempory internet cache upon closing, this forces a reload of all content from the site again.

Secondly you may also find that if you have recently updated features of your account to premium status, you may have to clear your tempory browser cache, to refresh the entire page/s.

Lastly the overall speeds are dependant on a number of server load and network limitations in peak rate times.

I hope this helps while you're waiting for an admin reply.

Thanks for responding. Where is the Temporay internet cache is it the temporary internet files?

Also I am hosting mp3s but do not want streaming to be available is there a way to disable sreaming and only allow downloads?

1. To reset the internet explorer cache, goto control panel - Internet options - General
and click the delete button as exampled below.

2. To play an MP3 on your site - Live space or myspace, simply copy the shortcut as usual (right click and select copy shortcut) and paste shortcut into webpage - email etc,

A stream as one would term it is the expression used to describe the data-flow however it is connected to, either through a player or as a downloadable file.

Depending on the users browser settings and plugins governs how the files are handled, generally clicking on a link to an mp3 in a browser page or email will prompt to save the file, alternately it might be played in windows media player with the option to save from the media player.
