i have three (3) suggestions that can be applied for all types of users (free or paying subscribers) and i think can further enhance functionality and user-friendliness of your already great online file sharing service:

1. add a download counter - basically monitors how many times each file has been downloaded since the time it was uploaded..

2. add a flash or java enabled file display interface, much like how either windows explorer or yahoomail plus beta works..

3. add a multi-select file uploader, of which the files to be uploaded can be selected from a dialog box at a single time and then are displayed on a listbox before uploading begins, instead of having a browse button for every file..

4. retain the download URL of files even if they are moved from one folder to another only within a user account's database..

anyway, just a thought.. but would those be cooler? ;)

Puniksem answers:

A1: Providing a file download counter for every file stored on fileden servers would vastly increase the amount of server space required and bandwidth required to add file monitors to about 2 million accounts.

A2: The one function that sets fileden aside from many online storage sites is direct FTP access for premium members. Using programs like Macromedia CuteFTP gives you such folder access and file handling.

A3: Again using an FTP program will give you inline multiple file handling with partial transfer recovery and scheduled transfers.

A4: Providing the ability to maintain link integrity when moving files is a function that would seriously complicates file handling and data storage. It is not a practical solutions.

I hope this answers your questions, and thank you for your suggestions.

yes they do and i truly understand..
i was only hoping if FileDen had indeed thought about these options before and be available for all members..
thanks for taking the time to answer each and every one of them..

but whatever the case may be, your file-sharing service is by far the best..
keep it up..
