View Full Version : Does Anyone Care That My Files Are Gone?

I can't believe FileDen would lose all my files then put up a post stating not to moan about the service and that FileDen does not guarantee backup. Don't tell me not to moan and complain! My files are very important to me and I am enraged that they are now all gone! FileDen's homepage clearly states "Secure file storage". Secure means secure. I Want the world to know how FileDen lost all my files and didn't have the simple courtesy of replying to emails I sent regarding the matter. I liked FileDen but now I am very upset and infuriated with it's service. FileDen seems to have no remorse nor compassion for it's members!

Actually it was not FileDen that lost your files, it was in fact caused by a hardware failure at the Server array in the US.
Where you have quoted the term 'Secure' from the front page, the term actually refers to the fact that users files are unlikely to be tampered with or your account hacked into. Premium accounts are stored on secure servers.
I have also lost more than 5.5Gb of files collected since my joining here in 2006, and genuinely share your frustration of your losses.
However to help the team resolve matters, I ask you to confirm your account username (if different from forum)
and the date of your FileDen registration
if your account was either in 2006 - Jan 2009 or July 2009
(If you're not sure)
and if you have an existing URL to one of your files,
you can extract the registration date from the URL.
I will attempt to keep you informed about any news I receive, however as I'm on a family holiday, I've not heard from admin recently, but will leave a notification of this thread.

With a registration date of 2006 (like my account) your files are likely corrupted by the hardware failure and probably unrecoverable. However I was informed that the server technical team are now working to recover as many accounts as possible, for this reason fileden has temporarily disabled a number of accounts during this process.
So it's purely speculation for now as to how many accounts are recovered once the process is complete. Soon I hope for everyone's sake?

your files were possibly corrupted by the hardware failure and may be unrecoverable. However I was informed that the technical team are now working to recover as many accounts as possible that were affected.

I'm with the one's affected too.
My account name is darkdrium and I had the account since 2006.
I really hope the technical team would be able to fix this or at least get as much files recoverable as possible.

If your account was 2006, it's really unlikely that any files survived, Sorry!

I moved on with it some time ago but I was really upset when I learned about the files getting corrupted but still thanks to Fileden for storing my files for the past 3 years.
I guess I'll just start again.
But ye. Appreciate the hard work.
