I wish I too could say I've heard some news to share with you, unfortunately I have not heard anything. I am just as frustrated as any other user at the length of time it's taking to resolve this issue, and have had to take some drastic steps to restore my files elsewhere, So I have purchased my own domain space just to accommodate what I had on FileDen.

I will however maintain my Diamond account with FileDen in the hope that soon the service I've come to trust for more than three years is back online.

It seems like no information is a bad sign after all this time. In fact is seems like a strategy.

I've been patient. But I have an account that I can't use and hundreds of links to recreate. I can't even begin fixing this mess myself. FTP would be great but since the account is hosed I can't move files so it is still useless. If I don't get a date certain when I can use my account again in the next week I'm gone and my $60 a year.

I understand your frustration, I have not been successful at communicating with administration, so I have no updated information as to when this entire situation can or will be resolved.

I know this is no news and fully understand your predicament and decision to leave FileDen, and I hope I'm speaking for FileDen when I say I sincerely apologise for the disruption to your service.

All efforts are being made to resolve this issue as soon as possible, Fileden apologise to all users who are experiencing this and similar issues.

This has been going on for awhile now! I joined this site 2 years ago. Never had any problems. Now, the only thing I can look at is my profile! I can't upload files...I can't even access my files! I thought it was an issue with MySpace, but apparently not. This is why I would NEVER pay for a service like this. If I had payed for it, I would be so right now!

i dont agree

i am free user and since my seagal account form 2006 juli has died, i made a new free one:

seagal64 , but guess what: STILL no access and same errors about maintenance(this maintance is taking way too long btw if i compare maintanance with othr free services i use)

and chmod errors, so free users are also not able to login and its frustating

i my self dont think it will be solved before its 2010

ur banned for asking this question?

ok whatever, just wanna tell you that it will be damn hard to find a good filehost like fileden that has only been down once (as far as i noticed during my 3 year period as free user on fileden: 2006/08 till now is 3 years )

i have tried alot which also have free service and they all sock compared to fileden , so i guess you will have a very hard time looking for one.

Wow, so after reading all this I guess it all comes down to this:

Thos of us that have been loyal FileDen users since the beginning are royally screwed. Left only with a statement of, "Thanks for your loyalty, but you should have known better than to trust us! Actually plan for something like this to happen? No, thats something only real IT people do, not a service like this. Please fall for it again, upload files again and hope we don't f*ck it up again! Thanks and best wishes!"

Seriously - I am an IT professional myself and so much of what we do is plan for when disaster like this happens as to not loose data. I guess its not important since its really not y'all's data, only those that have supported you. I bet you plan a bit better and have better disaster recovery set up for all the billing and payment information.

For years I have recomended FileDen to everyone I know because of its superior service. I've bragged about how awesome your online storage service is and got many people to sign up.

I thought maybe you were real IT people trained for this sort of thing. Didn't realize this wasn't a real company, just one pretending to be one and taking money from people.

So the point of your message was to have a great big bitch about fileden, have you got it off your chest now....

Fileden had taken steps to ensure that user files shouldn't have been affected, however it was the backup procedure that failed when a hard drive failed. A real one in a million failure, and as a technician yourself, you should know that NO system is 100% reliable. ASK BILL GATES!
